FAQs

What should I expect at my intake session?

Our first session together is about getting to know each other and building the therapeutic relationship. I will review any questions from your intake paperwork, discuss what brings you to therapy and develop goals for our time together. We'll discuss your strengths, support system, aspects of your relationship and ways you are currently coping and connecting with each other.

What if you are not a good fit for me?

The relationship you have with your therapist is an important one. It's crucial that you feel comfortable with your therapist so that sessions help you move forward. If you don't feel I am the right fit for you, I can help you find a therapist that is.

Do you have in-person appointments?

At this point in time, all appointments are held virtually via a HIPAA compliant platform. We recommend a stable internet connection and video capabilities. Clients will need to be in the state of Maryland or the District of Columbia during the session.

Are my sessions confidential?

I work out of my home office and confidentiality is maintained to create a safe space for open and honest communication. There are times where confidentiality must be broken if there is harm or risk to yourself or others. Additional information is in our intake paperwork and discussed at session.

What are your hours?

I work Monday through Friday from 9am-4pm. I occasional offer 8am sessions, please inquire if you need an earlier time. I do not have sessions in the evenings or weekends.

Do you accept insurance?

Couples and Family Sessions are Self-Pay. In order to bill insurance for therapy, a treatment plan and progress notes must be focused on an individual and not the couple/relationship. The aim of our work together is to treat the relationship and relational issues; promoting a safe and nurturing environment for both partners and all family members.

You can request a Superbill for potential reimbursement based on your out-of-network insurance benefits. Please check with your insurance and inquire if they cover Couples Therapy.
